Anyone can learn Reiki!  This gentle, yet powerful energy will benefit a person who is new to the healing arts, but can also augment the skills of an experienced healing practitioner.  We teach Reiki in the following way:

 Reiki I

The primary purpose of a Reiki I class is to reawaken and strengthen your connection to Universal Life Energy. The history and philosophy of Reiki are covered along with all pertinent information on how to use it on yourself and others. We believe that the main focus of Reiki I is self-treatment.

 Reiki II

Generally, we think that it is best to wait for at least three months before taking Reiki II. This gives you ample time to work with the energy, to practice on others, and to use Reiki to bring yourself into balance. In a Reiki II class, you are taught at least three sacred symbols, which can be used to intensify and focus the energy. (In our system, Tera-Mai TM Reiki, you receive a total of five symbols.) You will learn a technique to help with emotional issues; and you will experience how to send Reiki long-distance. On this level, you have a wealth of Reiki energy available to you; and it is now appropriate to place more emphasis on treating others.

 Reiki III

After you have worked with Reiki II energy for a while, you may decide to make the commitment to go on to Reiki III. You will learn the Reiki Master symbol. (In Tera- MaiTM Reiki, there are two additional symbols.) When you take Reiki III, you will have all the energy of a Reiki Master, but you will not yet have the ability to teach. We feel that it is appropriate to separate this level into two parts. We believe that it is very important to integrate and to work with the increased energy before you can effectively pass it on to someone else. In addition, some students of Reiki want to avail themselves of the Master level energy, but they have no desire to teach.

Reiki Master/Teacher

If teaching Reiki resonates within you, it will become clear that going on to this level is right for you. On the other hand, even if you do not envision yourself holding classes, you may want to become a Reiki Master so that you can attune your family and friends. You will learn the attunements for all three Reiki levels; and you will also receive guidelines for teaching your own classes.

In our Reiki I classes, we use our book The Gift of Reiki as the text.

An interactive workshop that explores how the power of Reiki offers a new framework for resolving internal and external conflict

What Is the Focus?

The foundation of this workshop is based on a very unique partnership.  Although it is not common to associate the calming influence of Reiki with the theories of Conflict Resolution, we believe that they go together perfectly.  Conflict Resolution offers concrete answers to many troubling issues, and these solutions are so needed in today’s world.  It is our purpose to introduce you to various models of Conflict Resolution and Conscious Communication.  We will interweave these peacemaking tools with the healing energy and spirituality of Reiki.

We feel that the power of Reiki can bring greater clarity to any situation in which there is conflict.  This can apply to anything from a minor squabble to dissent among nations.  Since we believe that true peace begins within the heart of each individual, we are able to have a positive impact on our families and friends, the places where we work, our communities, and, ultimately, the entire world around us.

What Will I Learn?

By combining Reiki with effective Conflict Resolution and Conscious Communication skills, a synergy results, which enables us to work through the personal issues that have kept us disconnected.  The wisdom of the Five Reiki Principles will form the basis of our discussion.

We will draw on the work of leading Conflict Resolution experts such as Marshall Rosenberg, William Ury, Roger Fisher, Michael Nagler, and Dudley Weeks, as well as the philosophical and spiritual teachings of Louise Diamond, Byron Katie, Pema Chodron, and Thich Nhat Hanh.

To further enrich the process, we will use movement, meditation, yoga, sound healing, and visual art.  They will be woven into the fabric of the workshop to create a very dynamic experience.
